Kitzbuhel Jagerwurt Hotel May 2007

JAGERWURT HOTEL 24 May 2007

Thurs evening day 2 – we returned to our assigned table in a special room for elderly British awaiting our chosen dishes. Chosen that is this morning at breakfast, in spite of our sneaking out of the dining room before committing ourselves. But no, we were followed, no escape, we must choose, except for the exciting prospect of being allowed to choose our pud after our main course tonight.   Last night our first we had the luxury of instant choice, so much better than being in hospital where you eat what the previous occupant of your bed chose.  But not all is too ordained do we go early, middling or late?  A choice of 7 , 8 or even later!  This is a big gamble – perhaps put odds on it?   will everyone eat at the same time as last night?  Probably not as 6 couples newly arrived VERY late, only just before the Witching hour of 9pm.

But if there is a pattern to the others eating then maybe it enable us to miss most of the conversation of loud mouth 1 opposite.  (perhaps carrying capacity because of her husband hearing loss).  Even her travels in China don’t excite us.

But also opposite to the right is loudmouth 2 who delights in her exhibitionism. Noisy cockney – Jewish? Who might be fun in small doses aside from her cigarettes, she is one of the Returnees.   The young couple are a conundrum – what are they doing here – he brews darkly, she droops agitatedly and anxiously – holding forth a Big Brother State about smoking.  Why shouldn’t be allowed to smoke after all one pays on the duty of cigarettes and dies young.  Smokers are an asset?   She didn’t make breakfast this morning – out smoking?

In the left hand corner is the Scottish couple? Who perhaps unwisely started a conversation with Loud Mouth 1 and have therefore developed a week long relationship, but not having seen who initiated the relationship perhaps I am drawing incorrect assumptions.

Because we too have a relationship.  I perhaps unwisely warned Latecomers 1 to our left that helpings were large after which he ordered salad only for both of them.  Is this the story of her life?   She grins and cowers and she and Peggy had a chat in the street.  This leaves RIGHT HAND COUPLE who must have left soon without a trace.  Perhaps they will develop an interest? Or are they the other Returnees?  Yes they are – four times.  Oh and at breakfast last night next to us a beautiful tanned Kitzbuhel male German speaking who was caged with us surely by mistake  – and now its 6.30pm and I’m dying to go down for a drink but entering the lounge will be like entering the lions den as they may all be down there socialising – can one find a corner, carrying a book and without appearing completely antisocial, perhaps a nod here and there can sit and drink in peace – a dilemma.
